When Will the Nightmare End?

When I began this blog in the weeks after Trump was reelected, I naively hoped it would be possible to get through the tribulation of these four years with frequent doses of honesty, humor, kindness and faith. Less than halfway through, it’s clear how crazily optimistic that was.

Honesty? What good does speaking truth to power when it falls on deaf ears or worse, those of MAGA deliberately stopped by greed and malice? What good is trying to mock the imbecilities and the insane extravagance of this foul regime when Trump himself revels in posting the most extreme self-glorifying absurdities? What good is faith when he gets away with everything? Corruption, greed, vanity, racism, misogyny and more are openly celebrated with astounding bare-faced hypocrisy and shameless flattery.

As for kindness and faith, forget it. Graft has become a national sport while pastors proclaim this cheater and candidate Antichrist as their anointed savior. It’s enough to make one despair. But since sifting souls is what the Apocalypse is all about, endurance is essential.

The lies are literally endless. And yet, the babbling fool continues on seemingly blissfully unaware of just how universally detested and scorned he rightfully is. Recently Trump uttered his most idiotic suggestion yet (which is saying something) – to rename New Mexico, my beloved Land of Enchantment, as “New America”. WTF? It’s hard to tell if such a mindbogglingly stupid idea if that’s some kind of joke, if the moron actually means it, or (as is most likely) it’s yet just another blatant distraction from the Epstein Files. (NM’s DOJ, BTW, is suing his over access, but that’s another story…) In any case, Trump has managed to piss off yet another state entirely and thereby made it much harder for his local lackeys to get elected. Is Trump that demented, racist, or could it be he simply doesn’t care about the election because he intends to prevent it from happening?

Dear God in Heaven, how much more will we have to endure of this incessant assault on the basic values of decency, courtesy, and humanity? How much more of this endless pounding can we take? By this point, it gets worse not by the month or the week, but by the day and the hour. It cannot last, of course, but this madness that the GOP (and never forget, Russia) have unleashed could easily destroy us all.

For the signs are grim indeed. Many look to the midterm elections to mark a decisive turn back towards sanity and cutting out the evil cancer of Trumpism. I pray so too, but I’m going to say it out loud: I wonder if we will even have any more elections. I fearfully suspect the madman will not just do all he can to restrict voting, but sow enough chaos to cancel the democratic process and rule as an outright dictator. He is busily setting the stage right now. This year’s October Surprise could be more brutal than we can imagine.

Yet for all his lofty imperial ambitions and AI-fueled nightmare fantasies, Donald Trump is very old, senile, and visibly falling apart. It’s not just Melania and Vance that have good reason to wish him gone. I have little doubt that most of the ass-kissing sycophants around him, as well as the useless politicians on both sides of the aisle, every foreign government except those playing him like Russia and Israel, and the vast silent majority suffering in this country secretly want him dead. It might be one reason why he faces so little opposition. Everyone hopes he will do it on his own, too, maybe from a Big Mac OD; cleanly, without any scandal or inconvenience, but soon.

But if we know anything about Trump is that our happy incarnation of Nero will surely not make it easy by bouncing down the steps of Air Force One on his hairpiece some fine day. And if some medical emergency happens while out of sight, he might just disappear like Mitch McConnell, sparking yet another futile constitutional crisis. But whatever happens, Trump seems determined to take everybody down with him. The president can do it, too, because those who could have stopped him have all proven too gutless to do so when they could have. And this autumn gives this eager apprentice Antichrist plenty of exciting excuses to let loose the storm.

Scheduled for this week is Trump’s ridiculous midterm convention as well as the solemn twenty-fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. These events could provide excellent opportunities for lone nuts, state-enacted terrorism/revenge or even false-flag attacks. Beyond that comes the change of seasons bringing with it the chill specter of a third world war or a potential market crash, and then the agony of the election.

Plus there’s rogue AI to watch out for, two ongoing wars, and the slow revelation of the UFO reality. Fun times, far from it, but definitely interesting ones. Whatever happens, historians of the future will be talking about these days for many years to come – that is, if there are any historians in the future…

For as long as possible, TRUMP OF DOOM will be here to chronicle, illuminate, and comment on the End Times, for grim amusement and for insight as we watch. May God have mercy on us all.
