Donald J. Trump, Antichrist

Why not both?
Clown or Devil?

Could He Really Be the Antichrist?

Love him or hate him, Donald J. Trump has become a major political phenomenon of the Twenty-First Century, and he may only have just begun. Countless times in the course of his rise, the once and again president has broken all rules, said outrageous things that would have caused the immediate shunning of anyone else, and yet it now seems like nothing can stop him.

It’s not enough to dread what will happen next or wonder how this could possibly be; why might be an even more critical question. Certainly America’s enemies happily support a president who openly fawns on Vladimir Putin. But could there be a bigger purpose involved in his re-election here than even the collapse of the American empire? A spiritual person might well question God’s purpose in this whole dubious enterprise, and they would be right to do so.

For the signs of the times are not good. The entire planet is in deep, deep trouble; war, climate change, pollution, overpopulation, political unrest, rising fanaticism, and technological growth out of control are but some of the growing challenges faced by every human being alive today. You name it; there are plenty of reasons to fear that the end of the world as we have known it might not be that far away.

In such a situation, could Trump actually be the long-awaited literal Antichrist of Bible prophecy?

Now, the predictions of the Antichrist are scattered in various places throughout the Bible. It is up to us to piece them together, although there are several mother lodes of information in Daniel, Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians, and Revelation. But it’s not meant to be easy.

One might think that filling the literal Antichrist’s shoes should require much bigger feet than Trump’s. Paul talks of the Antichrist’s role in the end-times as very large indeed:

Could this possibly refer to a guy who, not that long ago, was widely thought of as a vain and vulgar incompetent buffoon? Remember, Hitler was once thought a fool who could be easily manipulated, too, but still, such an extraordinary claim requires extraordinary backing.

It is important simply because whoever he is, the Antichrist will take a lot of people to hell with him. So the question of whether the President of the United States could really be such a monster is actually serious; literally, damned serious. If only all this were just the bad joke it sounds like it should be…

But is Donald Trump, Antichrist really that much more absurd than such a dangerously unsuitable man being elected president, twice? Or does it rather neatly if horribly explain his exceptional career?

Who can truly say? Maybe Trump is God’s little joke on all the supposedly smart people who think they’re in charge. It wouldn’t be the first such time. The “strong delusion” could well be simply not taking him seriously as a threat.

Judge for yourself. The first four signs should be clear to everyone, the next two only happened recently, and the last is truly mind-blowing. Spoilers follow.
